I can appreciate that the Calvinist feel the need to emphasis the Sovereignty of God. But, he made himself no less Sovereign(powerful) when he delegated to us the "power of free will." If your boss delegates power i.e. authority to you does that make him any less powerful. He showed his Sovereignty in by sending Christ to die and by giving us a choice.
Despite our rebellion and misuse of free will against him, God choose not to destroy us with his power. He choose instead to to send his son to save us: He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died an atoning death, and rose from the dead to save you. Rather than destroying you he sent his Son to destroy sin and death and by grace through faith to save you from everlasting death i.e. hell. If you go, You will go to hell as the result of rejecting God, Not the other way around. In effect, he will save you from yourselves, (John 3:16.)
